The Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, Brooklyn is a three-year advanced clinical fellowship program designed to provide comprehensive training in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of gastrointestinal and liver diseases. Eligibility
- Must have successfully completed a 3-year ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program before starting the fellowship
- Must hold an MD or equivalent medical degree
- International Medical Graduates (IMGs) must have a valid ECFMG certificate
- Applicants must submit USMLE Step I, Step II, and Step III scores
- Candidates should be eligible for Internal Medicine board certification
- Applicants must demonstrate strong clinical performance, academic interest, and commitment to Gastroenterology and Hepatology

- Selected candidates are invited for an interview
- Final selection is completed through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP)
- Selected fellows complete credentialing and onboarding before beginning fellowship training
