Fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

• Must hold an MD (Doctor of Medicine) or DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) degree.
• Must have completed an ACGME-accredited Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery Residency Program in the United States or Canada.
• Must be board-eligible with the American Board of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery (ABOHNS).
• Must meet UC Irvine Graduate Medical Education eligibility requirements and obtain the necessary California medical licensure before starting the fellowship.

The Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at UC Irvine School of Medicine is a one-year advanced fellowship that provides specialized training in the medical and surgical management of facial cosmetic and reconstructive conditions. Fellows gain extensive experience in facial aesthetic surgery, rhinoplasty, facial rejuvenation, reconstructive surgery following trauma or cancer, facial nerve disorders, scar revision, skin cancer reconstruction, and minimally invasive cosmetic procedures. Training is conducted under the supervision of experienced facial plastic surgeons through a high-volume surgical practice, offering comprehensive exposure to both cosmetic and reconstructive techniques. The fellowship also emphasizes clinical research, multidisciplinary collaboration, resident education, and academic development, preparing graduates for careers in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery in academic or private practice.
