Fellowship in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Imaging

The Cardiothoracic Imaging Fellowship at UMass Chan Medical School is a one-year advanced training program focused on comprehensive imaging of the heart, lungs and thoracic structures. Fellows receive approximately 30–40% cardiovascular imaging and 60–70% thoracic imaging exposure, with training in advanced imaging techniques and interpretation of complex cases. The program also provides multidisciplinary learning through collaboration with cardiology, pulmonology, cardiothoracic surgery, oncology and pathology, along with conferences, teaching and research opportunities.

1. Complete an eligible Radiology residency.
2. Prepare the required fellowship application documents:
3. UMass/Universal Application Form
4. CV
5. Personal statement
6. 3 letters of recommendation, including one from the Radiology Residency Program Director
7. USMLE transcript
8. ECFMG certificate, if applicable
3. Submit all application materials electronically by email to RadiologyFellowship@umassmed.edu.
4. The program reviews applications after all required materials have been received.
5. Eligible candidates are considered for an interview.
6. Complete the applicable UMass GME credentialing and Massachusetts medical licensing requirements before joining.
