Fellowship in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Imaging

The Cardiothoracic Imaging Fellowship at UCSF School of Medicine provides advanced training in cardiac and pulmonary imaging, including cardiovascular MRI/MRA, coronary CT angiography, chest CT, high-resolution CT, PET/CT, and CT-guided lung biopsy techniques. Fellows gain experience with complex cardiac conditions such as congenital heart disease and cardiomyopathies, as well as pulmonary conditions including interstitial lung disease and thoracic oncology. The program also includes multidisciplinary conferences, procedural training, resident teaching, research opportunities, and protected academic time, preparing fellows for careers in academic or private-practice cardiothoracic imaging.

2. Submit a current CV
3. Submit a personal statement describing career goals and plans
4. Upload a digital headshot
5. Submit USMLE/COMLEX or equivalent examination scores
6. Provide 3 current letters of recommendation, including one from the current program director; up to 5 letters may be submitted
7. Ensure all application materials are complete before submission; incomplete applications are not reviewed
8. Applications are evaluated based on the strength of the completed application
9. Selected candidates are invited for a personal interview
10. For fellowships participating in the NRMP Match, applicants should register with NRMP and follow its Match schedule
11. Final appointment is subject to credentialing, California medical licensing, and employment/visa requirements
