The Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine Fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center provides comprehensive training in blood banking and transfusion medicine, covering blood donor collection, immunohematology, transfusion practices, therapeutic apheresis, tissue banking, and stem cell processing. The fellowship combines hands-on clinical experience with exposure to advanced transfusion and therapeutic techniques. Fellows also gain experience in the management of complex transfusion-related cases and hospital transfusion services. The program includes opportunities for research and academic development in transfusion medicine. The training prepares fellows for practice in hospital transfusion services or blood center settings and for the American Board of Pathology subspecialty examination in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine.
