The UAB Neuropathology Fellowship is a two-year, Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-accredited program providing advanced training in neuropathology. Fellows receive comprehensive experience in surgical neuropathology, intraoperative consultations, frozen sections, brain-cutting, special stains, immunohistochemistry, molecular diagnostic techniques, and neuromuscular pathology. The program includes participation in multidisciplinary conferences such as the Neuro-Oncology Brain Tumor Conference, teaching of pathology and neurology residents and medical students, and opportunities for clinical, translational, or basic research. The second year is primarily research-focused, allowing fellows to develop advanced expertise and contribute to scholarly work.
