Fellowship Course in Neuropathology

• MD, MD/PhD, or PhD in pathology, neuroscience, or a related biomedical field
• For clinical track: completion of Anatomic Pathology residency (ACGME-accredited) or equivalent
• Strong interest in neuropathology / diseases of the nervous system
• Demonstrated research experience in neuroscience or related area
• Ability to work in both diagnostic pathology and research settings
• Eligible for appropriate medical licensure (for clinical fellows, if required)

The Neuropathology Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (JHUSOM), Baltimore is a specialized postdoctoral training program focused on understanding diseases of the brain, spinal cord, and nervous system through advanced laboratory research and diagnostic pathology. The program is highly research-oriented and trains fellows in the cellular and molecular mechanisms of neurological disorders, including neurodegenerative diseases, brain tumors, and neuromuscular conditions. Fellows gain hands-on experience in histopathology, brain tissue analysis, experimental models, and modern molecular techniques, along with exposure to interdisciplinary collaboration with neurology and neurosurgery teams. The goal of the fellowship is to develop independent physician-scientists or researchers capable of contributing to academic medicine, clinical neuropathology, and cutting-edge neuroscience research.
