Fellowship Course in Neuropathology

• MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree.
• Completion of an accredited AP or AP/CP pathology residency.
• Board eligible or board certified in Pathology.
• Eligible for Illinois medical licensure.
• Submission of a completed application, CV, personal statement, and letters of recommendation.
• Successful completion of interviews and credentialing requirements.

The Neuropathology Fellowship at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine provides comprehensive subspecialty training in the diagnosis of neurologic diseases within a major academic medical center. Fellows gain extensive experience in the interpretation of brain and spinal cord biopsies, neuromuscular pathology specimens, and postmortem examinations of the nervous system. The curriculum integrates contemporary molecular and immunohistochemical techniques with traditional morphologic evaluation to support precision diagnostics. Fellows participate in multidisciplinary conferences with neurologists, neurosurgeons, and neuroradiologists, fostering a collaborative approach to patient care. Opportunities for research, teaching, and scholarly publication are a key component of the program. Graduates are exceptionally well prepared for careers in academic neuropathology and specialized diagnostic practice.
