Dermatology Residency Program

1. Must meet the requirements for the UCLA Dermatology Residency Program.
2. International Medical Graduates must have a valid Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates certificate.
3. International Medical Graduates must be eligible for J-1 visa sponsorship and have a State of California eligibility letter at the time of application.
4. The program accepts applicants with prior residency training and applicants already board certified in another specialty.

The Dermatology Residency Program at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) provides comprehensive training in medical dermatology, pediatric dermatology, dermatopathology, and dermatologic surgery. UCLA is a major academic health institution focused on medical education, healthcare, research, and professional training. Residents receive clinical experience at UCLA, West Los Angeles Veterans Affairs Hospital, and Olive View-UCLA Medical Center, with training in general dermatologic surgery, Mohs micrographic surgery, cosmetics, pediatric dermatology, and multiple dermatology subspecialty clinics. The program also provides opportunities for research, teaching, community service, and scholarly activities.

1. Apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service.
2. Submit Dean's Letter.
3. Submit medical school transcript.
4. Submit National Board examination scores, Parts 1 and 2, or equivalent.
5. Submit 3 letters of recommendation, with at least 1 from a dermatologist.
6. International Medical Graduates must submit the required Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates documentation.
7. The program offers residency positions through the National Resident Matching Program.
8. Selected applicants are invited for interviews.
