Dermatology Residency Program

1. Must have completed Postgraduate Year 1 (PGY-1) training before starting the Dermatology Residency.
2. Must have a Step 2 score.
3. A minimum of three letters of recommendation is required.
4. Applications from International Medical Graduates (IMGs) and international applicants are accepted.
5. Applicants who have completed or had training in another residency program are also eligible to apply.
6. There are no board score cutoffs or restrictions stated by the program.

The Dermatology Residency Program at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center provides comprehensive training in medical dermatology, dermatopathology, procedural dermatology, and dermatologic surgery. Residents receive extensive hands-on clinical experience under faculty supervision while caring for a diverse and underserved patient population. Training includes general dermatology, inpatient consultations, Mohs surgery, specialty clinics, dermatopathology, and pediatric dermatology. The program also provides structured didactic teaching, Grand Rounds, research opportunities, and multidisciplinary learning to develop strong clinical decision-making and procedural skills.

1. Apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
2. Submit the completed application along with at least three letters of recommendation.
3. Ensure that the Step 2 score is included.
4. Applicants can check their application status through ERAS.
5. The program reviews applications and sends interview invitations through the coordinated release.
6. Selected applicants participate in the virtual interview process.
7. The program participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
8. The program does not offer a Postgraduate Year 1 position; applicants must complete their preliminary year before starting Dermatology residency.
