Combined Anatomic Pathology / Clinical Pathology Residency Program

The Combined Anatomic Pathology / Clinical Pathology (AP/CP) Residency Program at UMass Chan Medical School is a 4-year ACGME-accredited residency providing comprehensive training in both Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, with at least 24 months of Anatomic Pathology and 18 months of Clinical Pathology training. The curriculum covers surgical pathology, autopsy and forensic pathology, cytopathology, hematopathology, dermatopathology, neuropathology, pediatric pathology, renal, breast, GI/liver, molecular pathology, chemistry, microbiology, hematology, transfusion medicine, immunology, cytogenetics and toxicology, along with laboratory management, quality improvement, patient safety, bioinformatics and research.

1. Submit the application and all required documents through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service)
2. Provide three current letters of recommendation
3. IMG applicants must provide a valid ECFMG Certificate
4. The program reviews applications and selects candidates for the interview process
5. If the program participates in the NRMP Match, applicants must register and participate through NRMP
6. Selected candidates who match must complete UMass Chan GME credentialing, Massachusetts medical licensure, employee-health clearance and other appointment requirements before starting residency
