- A Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care Technology is a four-year undergraduate program that prepares students to assist physicians and other healthcare professionals in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with cardiopulmonary disorders.
- Respiratory therapists help physicians care for patients with cardiopulmonary problems, such as: Emphysema, Asthma, Bronchitis, Pneumonia, Cardiac failure, Chest trauma.
- Respiratory Care Technology is an allied course for students who want to pursue a career in the medical field. Students learn about all aspects of the human respiratory system and the associated diseases.
- The course covers cardiovascular respiratory systems and diseases, their treatment, and respiratory care. The last semester is a mandatory six months or one-year internship.

Eligibility
- The minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of: Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 years course) Or Senior School Certificate Examination (10+2), Pre-degree Examination (10+2) (Physics, Chemistry & Biology & English) with minimum of 45% aggregate marks (PCBE), For reserve category 40% for SC, ST, NT, OBC & other reserve categories.
- Candidate shall be medically fit.
- Entrance/Selection Test: Selections of the candidates is being made by the Jammu & Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination on the basis of merit after conducting Entrance Examination.
