Urology Residency Program

12. The program considers United States Medical Licensing Examination scores, academic transcripts, letters of recommendation, personal statement, curriculum vitae, and research experience during the selection process.

The Urology Residency Program at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California is a five-year program comprising one year of general surgery internship followed by four years of specialized urology training. The program provides comprehensive clinical and surgical training in the management of urologic diseases, including general urology, urologic trauma, stone disease, pediatric urology, urologic oncology, minimally invasive surgery, female urology, reconstruction, robotic and laparoscopic surgery, and neurogenic bladder. Residents train at Los Angeles General Medical Center, Keck Hospital of USC, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and Rancho Los Amigos Hospital, with opportunities to participate in clinical, translational, and basic science research.

2. Create and complete the application through the Electronic Residency Application Service during the fourth year of medical school.
3. Submit the completed application before the program's applicable deadline.
4. The residency selection committee reviews applications based on predetermined selection criteria.
5. Selected applicants are invited for an interview.
6. Interviews are conducted virtually through Zoom.
7. Register for the American Urological Association Match Program and the National Resident Matching Program as required.
8. Participate in the American Urological Association early Match process. Match results are announced in January.
