About

The St John's Medical College (SJMC) was established in year 1963 by the Catholic Bishops Conference of India (CBCI) with the aim of training healthcare personnel committed to serving the poor in the margins. It is a part of institutions under St. John's National Academy of Health Sciences (SJNAHS). It has associated with St Johns Hospital, having 1350 beds for all medical and surgical departments including super-specialty departments. It has recognized for medical courses of MBBS, MD, MS, Diploma, DM, MCh under National Medical Council (NMC). It is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS). It has also recognized for DNB courses under National Board of Examinations (NBE), New Delhi. For the last ten years, St. John’s Medical College has consistently been ranked among the top 10 medical colleges in the country. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council, a Review Committee of the University Grants Commission, has recognized the excellence of St. John's Medical College and Hospital and accorded it with a 5 star grading.
