The Women's Mental Health Fellowship at NYU Grossman School of Medicine is a highly specialized one-year advanced training program designed for psychiatrists seeking expertise in reproductive psychiatry and women's behavioral health. The fellowship provides comprehensive clinical exposure to psychiatric disorders that occur across the female reproductive lifespan, including premenstrual disorders, infertility-related psychological challenges, pregnancy-associated psychiatric illness, postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, postpartum PTSD, and menopause-related mental health conditions. Fellows train across multiple clinical settings at NYU Langone Health and NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, serving diverse patient populations ranging from underserved communities to complex tertiary-care referrals. Clinical experiences include outpatient reproductive psychiatry, consultation-liaison psychiatry on obstetric and gynecologic services, integrated behavioral health programs, and perinatal psychiatry clinics. Fellows participate in multidisciplinary collaboration with obstetricians, gynecologists, pediatricians, psychologists, social workers, and primary care providers. The program includes a structured evidence-based didactic curriculum, journal clubs, case conferences, intensive faculty supervision, and opportunities for scholarly activity. Fellows are encouraged to engage in research, publications, presentations, and educational initiatives within the field of reproductive psychiatry. Graduates are prepared for leadership roles in academic psychiatry, perinatal mental health programs, women's health centers, consultation services, and specialized psychiatric practices.
