Post Doctoral Fellowship in Movement Disorders

• Completion of ACGME-accredited Neurology residency before start of fellowship
• Must be board-certified or board-eligible in Neurology
• Strong clinical training in neurology and patient care
• Demonstrated interest in movement disorders (e.g., Parkinson’s disease, tremor, dystonia)
• Good academic record with supportive letters of recommendation
• Ability to meet U.S. medical licensure requirements (if applicable)

The Movement Disorders Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is a specialized 2-year (with optional extension to 3 years for research) training program focused on the comprehensive diagnosis, management, and research of neurological movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, tremor, dystonia, Tourette syndrome, and ataxia. The program provides extensive hands-on clinical exposure through dedicated outpatient clinics and inpatient services, enabling fellows to develop strong expertise in patient evaluation and long-term management. Fellows gain training in advanced therapeutic techniques including deep brain stimulation (DBS), botulinum toxin injections, and optimized pharmacological treatments while working within a multidisciplinary team of neurologists, neurosurgeons, and rehabilitation specialists. In addition, the fellowship emphasizes academic development and clinical research, preparing candidates for leadership roles in both specialized clinical practice and academic neurology.
