Post Doctoral Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

• Must possess an MD, DO, MBBS, or equivalent medical degree from an accredited medical school.
• Must have completed or be completing an ACGME-accredited General Psychiatry Residency Program, or be eligible for the approved fast-track pathway after PGY-3.
• Must meet the University of Illinois Graduate Medical Education (GME) requirements for fellowship appointment.
• International Medical Graduates (IMGs) must hold a valid ECFMG certification.
• Applicants requiring a visa are sponsored under the J-1 visa program.
• Must apply through ERAS and participate in the NRMP Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Match.

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship is a 2-year, ACGME-accredited fellowship program that provides advanced training in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric disorders in infants, children, adolescents, and their families. Fellows receive comprehensive clinical experience in inpatient and outpatient child psychiatry, consultation-liaison psychiatry, school-based mental health, emergency psychiatry, psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, developmental disorders, and community psychiatry. The program emphasizes multidisciplinary collaboration, research, medical education, advocacy, and leadership, preparing graduates for independent practice and academic careers in child and adolescent psychiatry.
