Overview
- The identification of individuals through their speech characteristics is an area of speech science that reliably arouses attention of forensic experts. There are very few forensic laboratories in India undertaking forensic speaker identification. The P.G. Diploma in Forensic Speech Sciences and Technology programme intends to train professionals in the area of forensic speaker identification which would be applicable in forensic sciences. A fee of Rs.12,805/- shall be collected once in the beginning of the programme. This will be all inclusive except examination and hostel fee. If the candidate does not complete the programme within the scheduled time frame, he/she has to pay the additional fee of Rs.3,090/- per extra term. In addition, the fee prescribed by University of Mysore has to be paid.

Eligibility
- Candidates who have passed in any of the following examinations of any recognized University/institute with a minimum of pass class in the qualifying examination are eligible to apply. B.Sc. with Physics/Mathematics/Electronics /Computer Science/Forensic Science/ Speech and Hearing as a major component at B.Sc., B.ASLP level , B.E /B.Tech. with Electronics/Computer Science/Communication, M.B.B.S. Employees working in the forensic related field in forensic laboratories would be given preference. No upper age limit is applicable.
Admission Process:
- Candidates meeting the eligibility requirements shall be listed in order of merit which is decided based on the marks in the qualifying examination. The admissions shall be in accordance with the merit-cum-reservation policy of the Central Government. Selection is All India based. Candidates with experience in forensic laboratories will be given an additional weightage of 10 marks which will be added to the marks in the qualifying examination. Candidates who are short-listed based on the merit-cum-reservation will undergo an interview.
