Pediatric Residency Program

1. Applicants must apply for the Pediatric Residency Program through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
2. Applicants must submit their application through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
3. Must provide three letters of recommendation.
4. Must provide United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 1 and Step 2 scores. Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine applicants may provide Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination (COMLEX) scores.
5. Must provide medical school transcripts and the Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE).
6. International Medical Graduates must provide a valid Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certificate.
7. The program does not sponsor H-1B visas.

The Pediatric Residency Program at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center provides comprehensive three-year training in the care of infants, children, and adolescents. Residents gain clinical experience through inpatient and outpatient services, pediatric emergency medicine, intensive care, newborn care, and pediatric subspecialties. The program also provides opportunities for ambulatory care, research, quality improvement, academic teaching, and elective rotations, with increasing responsibility throughout the residency.

2. Register and participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
3. Submit the required documents, including examination scores, medical school transcripts, Medical Student Performance Evaluation, and three letters of recommendation.
4. International Medical Graduates must submit their Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certificate.
5. Selected applicants are invited to participate in an interview.
6. Applicants who successfully complete the selection process participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) Match.
