Pediatric Neurology Residency Program

The Child Neurology Residency Program at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children provides comprehensive medical training in pediatric neurology, preparing graduates for independent clinical practice or further subspecialty training. Residents first complete two years of general pediatrics followed by a year of adult neurology at partner institutions and finally two years of structured child neurology clinical work at St. Christopher’s, integrating inpatient and outpatient care. The curriculum fulfills the training requirements set by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and includes continuity clinics, subspecialty electives, and multidisciplinary care experiences. Residents encounter a wide range of neurologic conditions, from epilepsy and neuromuscular disorders to developmental and metabolic neurologic diseases. Educational components include hands-on patient care, didactic sessions, longitudinal continuity clinics, and rotations in related subspecialties. Training emphasizes compassionate, evidence-based, family-centered care within diverse clinical settings.
