The Pediatric Neurology Residency Program at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware is a five-year postgraduate medical training program in child neurology co-sponsored by Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. The program integrates two years of general pediatric training with three years of specialized neurology training. Residents gain comprehensive exposure to neurological conditions affecting children — including epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, neuro-immunological diseases, headache disorders, and genetic/metabolic encephalopathies — through rotations at Nemours Children’s Hospital, TJU, and other Delaware Valley clinical sites. The curriculum is designed to develop clinical competence across core pediatric and neurologic care domains, with emphasis on patient care, medical knowledge, communication, and systems-based practice. Didactic sessions, neurology conferences, and continuity clinics complement hands-on clinical experience. Graduates are prepared for board eligibility in neurology with special qualification in child neurology.
