Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program

• Hold an MD, DO, MBBS, or an equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Graduated from medical school within the last 7 years.
• Submit a completed ERAS application with all required supporting documents.
• USMLE Step 2 scores are strongly encouraged (not required at the time of application).
• International Medical Graduates (IMGs) must be ECFMG certified and are eligible only for J-1 visa sponsorship.

The Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program is a 5-year, ACGME-accredited residency offered by the University of Illinois College of Medicine (UICOM), Chicago. The program provides comprehensive training in the diagnosis and surgical management of musculoskeletal disorders through rotations at multiple affiliated hospitals. Residents gain extensive experience in all major orthopedic subspecialties, including trauma, sports medicine, spine, hand, pediatric orthopedics, joint reconstruction, oncology, and foot and ankle surgery. The curriculum combines hands-on surgical training, structured didactics, simulation, research opportunities, and multidisciplinary conferences to prepare graduates for independent practice or advanced fellowship training.
