The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at UAB is a six-year dual-degree program combining advanced oral and maxillofacial surgery training with medical education. Residents receive comprehensive training in dentoalveolar surgery, facial trauma, orthognathic surgery, dental implants, reconstructive surgery, maxillofacial pathology, anesthesia, and other surgical procedures. The program includes medical school education, general surgery, anesthesia, and progressive clinical experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Successful completion leads to a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree and a certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
