Neurosurgery Residency Program

1. Medical degree: MD or equivalent medical degree.
2. Applicants must meet the requirements for entry into an ACGME-accredited Neurosurgery Residency Program.
3. Applicants must apply through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service).
4. Applicants must also register with the NRMP (National Resident Matching Program).

The Neurological Surgery Residency Program at Keck School of Medicine of USC is a 7-year ACGME-accredited residency providing comprehensive training in adult and pediatric neurosurgery. Residents gain clinical and operative experience in cerebrovascular and endovascular surgery, complex cranial surgery, spinal surgery, neurocritical care, trauma, radiosurgery, and microsurgical techniques. Training is provided at major USC-affiliated hospitals, with opportunities for research, teaching, leadership, and advanced subspecialty training during the senior residency years.

2. Register with the NRMP (National Resident Matching Program).
3. Submit the required application and supporting documents through ERAS.
4. The program reviews applications and selects candidates for interviews.
5. Participate in the USC Neurosurgery Residency interview process.
6. Submit your NRMP rank order list.
7. Successful candidates are selected through the NRMP Match.
8. Complete USC/Los Angeles General Medical Center credentialing and onboarding requirements before starting residency.
