Neurology Residency Program

• Completion of an MD or DO degree (or equivalent international medical degree).
• Eligibility for medical licensure in the United States.
• Successful completion or eligibility to begin 1 year of ACGME-accredited internal medicine training (PGY-1).
• For international graduates:
• Valid ECFMG certification.
• Appropriate U.S. clinical experience is often preferred.
• Submission of application through Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
• Strong academic record, letters of recommendation, and personal statement.

The Neurology Residency program at the University of Illinois College of Medicine is a comprehensive 4-year ACGME-accredited training program designed to develop strong clinical, academic, and research skills in neurology. The curriculum begins with a PGY-1 year focused on internal medicine, which builds a solid foundation in general patient care, followed by three years of dedicated neurology training.
