The Neurology Residency Program at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is an ACGME-accredited program designed to develop outstanding clinical neurologists, physician-scientists, educators, and future leaders in neurological sciences. Based within the renowned Ken & Ruth Davee Department of Neurology, residents receive comprehensive training at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, one of the nation's leading academic medical centers, along with affiliated institutions including Jesse Brown VA Medical Center and Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. The curriculum combines extensive inpatient and outpatient clinical experience with structured didactic education, multidisciplinary case conferences, simulation training, and research opportunities. Residents gain exposure to every major neurology subspecialty while caring for patients with both common neurological disorders and highly complex tertiary referral cases. The program emphasizes evidence-based medicine, interdisciplinary collaboration, leadership development, health equity, and academic scholarship. Dedicated elective time allows residents to tailor their training toward subspecialty interests or research, and physician-scientist pathways are available for those pursuing academic careers. Graduates are exceptionally prepared for American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology certification and frequently continue into competitive fellowships or careers in academic neurology, hospital-based practice, and clinical research.
