MS Orthopedics

1. Recognized MBBS degree as per NMC regulations.
2. Completion of internship on or before the specified counselling deadline.
3. Valid NEET-PG score with required percentile — 50th percentile for general category (40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC, etc.) as per regulations.
4. Permanent or provisional medical registration with the NMC or State Medical Council.

The M.S. in Orthopaedics at Dr. Moopen’s Medical College, Wayanad is a rigorous three-year postgraduate residency designed to produce competent orthopaedic surgeons. The program is affiliated with Kerala University of Health Sciences and approved by the National Medical Commission. Residents gain extensive clinical and surgical experience in trauma care, fracture management, joint reconstruction, arthroscopy, paediatric orthopaedic conditions, and musculoskeletal disease. The orthopaedics department is equipped with modern operating theatres, clinical wards, and rehabilitation facilities, enabling hands-on training under the supervision of experienced faculty. Academic activities such as seminars, case discussions, journal clubs, and research projects reinforce theoretical knowledge and analytical skills. On completion, graduates are prepared for independent practice in hospitals, specialty orthopaedic centers, and academic settings, with competencies in both operative and nonoperative management of musculoskeletal conditions.

Qualify NEET-PG:

Appear in the NEET-PG exam and secure a valid rank in the admission year.

Register for Counselling:

Register online for PG medical counselling via the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for All India Quota seats and/or the Kerala State PG counselling for state quota seats.

Choice Filling & Seat Allotment:

Fill in “M.S. Orthopaedics, Dr. Moopen’s Medical College, Wayanad” among choices in the counselling portal.

Seats are allotted based on NEET-PG rank, reservation category, and preferences.

Document Verification:

Attend document verification with all original certificates: MBBS marksheets, internship completion certificate, NEET-PG scorecard, and medical registration certificates.

Fee Payment & Reporting:

Pay prescribed fees as per allotment letter and report to the college within the stated deadline.
