The M.S. (Ophthalmology) programme at Bhaarath Medical College & Hospital is a comprehensive three-year postgraduate course that prepares doctors to become specialist surgeons in the field of eye care and ocular surgery. The curriculum includes in-depth academic learning and hands-on clinical exposure to diagnose and manage a wide range of eye disorders such as cataracts, glaucoma, retinal diseases, corneal problems, and ocular trauma. Clinical training takes place in outpatient departments (OPDs), inpatient wards, and modern operating theatres, where residents observe and assist in surgeries under supervision. The programme emphasises surgical skills, patient assessment, diagnostic techniques (like slit lamp exam and tonometry), and participation in eye camps or community outreach programmes to promote vision care. Students also engage in seminars, case discussions, and research activities to build comprehensive clinical competence. The Ophthalmology Department at BMCH is supported by well-qualified faculty and equipped with essential diagnostic and surgical facilities.
