MS Ophthalmology

The MS Ophthalmology program at MVJ Medical College and Research Hospital (MVJMC&RH), Bangalore, is structured to train competent ophthalmic surgeons with strong clinical and microsurgical skills. The department provides comprehensive exposure to outpatient ophthalmology services, inpatient care, and operation theatre procedures. Residents receive hands-on training in cataract surgery, basic glaucoma management, ocular trauma care, and diagnosis of retinal and corneal diseases under experienced faculty supervision. The curriculum follows the competency-based postgraduate medical education framework prescribed by the National Medical Commission. Academic activities such as seminars, case presentations, journal clubs, clinical audits, and interdisciplinary discussions are integral to the training. 1. MBBS degree from an NMC-recognized medical college
2. Completion of compulsory rotating internship on or before the prescribed cutoff date
3. Permanent or provisional registration with NMC / State Medical Council
4. Qualified NEET-PG examination
5. Admission through centralised counselling (KEA / MCC)
