Eligibility Criteria

MBBS degree from a medical college recognized by the National Medical Commission
Completion of one-year compulsory rotating internship
Permanent or provisional registration with NMC or State Medical Council
Qualifying score in NEET-PG as prescribed for the academic year
Fulfilment of applicable reservation policies and service bond requirements

Minimum Education

MS – General Surgery is an intensive postgraduate surgical training program designed to develop surgeons with strong clinical judgment, operative skills, and comprehensive patient management abilities. The course provides extensive exposure to elective and emergency surgical procedures, trauma care, and perioperative management.
Residents undergo structured training in gastrointestinal surgery, hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, breast and endocrine surgery, colorectal surgery, vascular basics, and emergency surgical care. The program also includes exposure to minimally invasive and laparoscopic procedures. Academic activities such as seminars, case discussions, journal clubs, morbidity and mortality meetings, and research work leading to dissertation submission are integral components. The training aims to produce competent surgeons capable of independent practice, academic involvement, and further super-specialty training.
