GMERS Medical College & Civil Hospital (GMERSMCH), Sola is a well-established government medical institute under GMERS society, offering postgraduate courses in various specialties including Pulmonary Medicine (Respiratory Medicine). The MD Pulmonary Medicine course accepts 2 seats at GMERS Sola.
Over three years, students enrolled in this programme get exposure to a wide range of respiratory diseases through the attached Civil Hospital. They learn both outpatient and inpatient management, emergency respiratory care, diagnostics (pulmonary function tests, radiology, bronchoscopy), and tuberculosis treatments (given the high burden in India). Clinical rotations allow experience in ICU and chest wards. The curriculum includes case presentations, seminars, journal clubs, thesis work, and internal assessments. Students are trained to handle both common and complex respiratory cases, preparing them for consultant roles, academic positions, or public health assignments.
