1. MBBS degree recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
2. Completed one‑year compulsory rotating internship before admission.
3. Valid NEET‑PG qualification with rank/percentile meeting admission cutoffs.
4. Registration (permanent or provisional) with the National Medical Commission or respective State Medical Council before starting the course.

The MD – Psychiatry program at ICARE Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Haldia, is a three‑year postgraduate medical degree designed to train doctors in the understanding and treatment of mental health disorders. The curriculum integrates advanced theoretical knowledge with extensive clinical exposure in psychiatric wards, outpatient clinics, and emergency settings. 1. Qualify NEET‑PG: Appear for and qualify the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET‑PG).
2. Register for Counseling: Register for the relevant postgraduate counseling process through the designated authority (e.g., West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) or national/state PG counseling portal).
3. Choice Filling & Seat Allotment: Enter preferred colleges and specialties; seats are allotted based on NEET‑PG rank, reservation category, and seat availability.
4. Document Verification: Attend document verification with NEET‑PG scorecard, MBBS degree and internship completion certificates, identity proof, and category documents.
5. Fee Payment & Reporting: Pay the required fees and report to ICARE Institute of Medical Sciences and Research by the stipulated date to complete admission formalities.
