MD Pediatrics

• MBBS degree (or equivalent) from a recognised medical college.
• Completion of the compulsory internship.
• Qualify in the INI-CET entrance exam.
• Meet the minimum required academic marks in MBBS (often 55% for the General category, with relaxations for reserved categories).
• Fulfil institutional/regulatory requirements (registration, documentation, etc.).

MD Paediatrics at AIIMS Bilaspur is a three‐year postgraduate course aimed at training paediatricians capable of understanding and managing medical issues in children and adolescents. The curriculum includes theoretical classes, clinical wards, neonatal ICU exposure, emergency paediatrics, immunisation schedules, growth and development evaluation, nutrition, and preventive child health. Students are exposed to paediatric sub‐specialities and common childhood infections, genetic and metabolic disorders, where possible; they also engage in case discussions, seminars, research/thesis work. The programme follows guidelines under INI-CET for admissions and aligns with national teaching and clinical standards. Since AIIMS Bilaspur has limited paediatric seats, competition is fairly intense, and performance both in MBBS and INI-CET plays a key role. Graduates are expected to be competent in hospital paediatrics, neonatal care, community outreach, and possibly teaching or academic roles.

1. Ensure MBBS + internship completed, along with registration and required documents.
2. Keep track of the INI-CET notification for the relevant PG session.
3. Register for INI-CET, appear for the exam.
4. Obtain INI-CET rank and compare with the cutoff for MD Paediatrics at AIIMS Bilaspur.
5. Participate in counselling / seat allocation via the AIIMS / INI-CET system. Select Paediatrics among preferences.
6. If a seat is allotted, complete document verification and fee payment.
7. Join the course as per the schedule and attend the required clinical, academic, and research activities for the 3 years.
