MD Pediatrics

1. MBBS degree recognised by the NMC.
2. Completed the one-year internship before the start of the academic year.
3. Registered with a State Medical Council or the NMC.
4. Qualified NEET-PG with the minimum required percentile for eligibility (e.g., ~50 percentile for general category, with relaxations for reserved categories).
5. Meet additional counselling criteria as determined by MCC and state authorities.

The MD Pediatrics programme at Government Medical College & Hospital, Jalgaon is a three-year postgraduate medical course designed to develop specialists in child health and pediatric medicine. Students receive intensive training in newborn and child care, pediatric emergencies, immunisations, nutrition, chronic childhood illnesses, and developmental disorders. The curriculum combines structured classroom teaching with extensive clinical rounds in pediatric wards, outpatient departments (OPD), and neonatal units. Being part of a government tertiary care hospital, trainees are exposed to a broad spectrum of pediatric cases, enabling strong clinical decision-making skills. Emphasis is also placed on preventive child healthcare, growth monitoring, community outreach, and research methodology to prepare graduates for roles in hospitals, clinics, academic settings, and public health programmes where child health is a priority.
