MD Ophthalmology

1. Completed MBBS from an NMC‑recognised medical college.
2. Completed or due to complete the rotating internship by the deadline specified by NMC/NEET‑PG rules.
3. Qualified NEET‑PG with required category‑wise percentile eligibility.
4. Valid medical registration certificate (provisional or permanent) from the Medical Council of India or State Medical Council.

The MS – Ophthalmology programme at TSRMMCHRC is a three‑year full‑time postgraduate surgical degree aimed at developing expertise in the evaluation and management of eye disorders. The curriculum covers detailed anatomy and physiology of the eye, ocular pathology, clinical ophthalmology, advanced diagnostic techniques, and surgical management. Students receive structured training in subspecialties including cataract and refractive surgery, glaucoma management, corneal diseases, and retinal disorders. Surgical skills are emphasised, with practice in procedures such as cataract extraction (including phacoemulsification), laser treatments, and other ophthalmic surgeries. The department fosters research involvement and clinical exposure through its teaching hospital, helping graduates build confidence for both hospital practise and private careers in eye care.

1. Qualify NEET‑PG: Appear and secure a valid score in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Postgraduate (NEET‑PG).
2. Counselling Registration: Register for postgraduate medical counselling via the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for All‑India Quota and/or the relevant State Counselling Authority for State Quota seats.
3. Choice Filling: Select MS – Ophthalmology at Trichy SRM Medical College as a preferred programme during the counselling process.
4. Seat Allotment: Seats are allotted based on NEET‑PG rank, category, and availability.
5. Document Verification: Report with original documents — NEET‑PG scorecard, MBBS degree certificate, internship completion certificate, registration proof, identity proof, and other required certificates — for verification.
6. Fee Payment & Admission Confirmation: Pay the prescribed fees to confirm the admission.
7. Hostel Allotment (if opted): Apply for hostel accommodation after admission confirmation.
