MD Nuclear Medicine

Overview

The MD in Nuclear Medicine at AIIMS Mangalagiri is designed to train doctors in the clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic aspects of nuclear medicine. The course provides in-depth knowledge of molecular imaging techniques (SPECT, PET-CT, PET-MRI) and radionuclide therapies. Residents learn to evaluate and manage patients with thyroid disorders, oncology cases, cardiovascular diseases, neurological conditions, and infections using nuclear imaging. The program also emphasizes radiation safety, dosimetry, radiopharmacy, and quality control. With AIIMS Mangalagiri’s state-of-the-art nuclear medicine and molecular imaging department, students gain hands-on experience in both diagnostics and therapy. Graduates are well-prepared for careers as nuclear medicine specialists, academic faculty, researchers, and consultants in advanced hospitals and cancer institutes.

Eligibility

MBBS degree recognized by NMC/MCI.

Completion of one-year compulsory rotatory internship.

Must qualify NEET-PG with the required cutoff percentile.

Admission via MCC All India Quota counseling.
