The MD – Microbiology programme at Symbiosis Medical College for Women (SMCW), Pune is a postgraduate medical specialty approved by the National Medical Commission and offered from the 2025 academic year onwards as part of the institution’s PG medical education expansion. The programme focuses on training specialists in diagnostic microbiology, infection control, and laboratory medicine. Residents receive comprehensive training in bacteriology, virology, mycology, parasitology, immunology, and hospital infection control practices.
