MD General Medicine

1. Possess a recognized MBBS degree under the NMC Act.
2. Successful completion of one-year internship on or before the specified deadline.
3. Valid NEET-PG score meeting qualifying percentiles (§50th for UR; relaxed for reserved categories as per regulations).
4. Permanent or provisional registration with the NMC/State Medical Council.

The MD in General Medicine at Dr. Moopen’s Medical College, Wayanad is a rigorous three-year postgraduate program that prepares physicians to manage a broad spectrum of internal medical conditions. Beginning in 2021, the department admits a small group of trainees each year (typically 2 seats). The curriculum emphasizes clinical excellence, patient-centered care, critical thinking, and evidence-based medical practice. Residents rotate through various subspecialties within internal medicine, including cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, nephrology, neurology, infectious diseases, and emergency medicine — gaining hands-on experience in acute and chronic disease management. The department is supported by modern facilities such as ICU, CCU, dialysis unit, and specialty clinics that enhance exposure and clinical learning. Faculty-led research, case discussions, journal clubs, and seminars are an integral part of the program to strengthen analytical skills and lifelong learning. Qualify NEET-PG:

• Take the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET-PG) in the admission year and secure a valid rank.

Register for Counselling:

• Register online for PG counselling via the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for All India Quota seats, and/or through Kerala state PG counselling for state quota seats.

Choice Filling & Seat Allotment:

• Choose “MD General Medicine, Dr. Moopen’s Medical College” during the preference submission window.

• Seats are allotted based on NEET-PG score, reservation category, and choices filled.

Document Verification:

• Attend verification with original certificates (MBBS marksheets, internship completion certificate, NEET-PG scorecard, registration certificate).

Fee Payment & Reporting:

• Pay the prescribed fees per the allotment letter and report to the college on the designated date.
