Overview

1. AIMS Bellur — established in 1985–86 — is a private medical college located in Bellur, Karnataka under the aegis of a reputed trust. It is affiliated to Adichunchanagiri University and recognised by NMC.
2. The MD General Medicine programme at AIMS Bellur is designed to train physicians in comprehensive internal medicine: covering diagnostics, patient management, emergencies, chronic illness management, and preventive aspects. Given that the institute has a large affiliated teaching hospital (with reportedly over 1,000 beds and a wide range of specialties), students get broad clinical exposure to varied medical conditions — acute, chronic, infectious, and non-communicable diseases — which enhances learning and practical skills.
3. Campus infrastructure supports academic and clinical training: hostels, laboratories, lecture halls, hospital facilities, and opportunities for clinical rounds and hands-on patient management — which is vital for an MD in General Medicine.
4. Due to the high demand and limited seats (11 sanctioned seats), admission is competitive, and residents likely receive focused training and mentorship. Graduates of MD General Medicine from AIMS can pursue further super-specialty training (DM / DNB), work as physicians in hospitals, or take academic/clinical roles in internal medicine.

Eligibility

1. MBBS degree from NMC-recognised institution.
2. Completion of compulsory rotating internship before the admission cut-off date.
3. Valid NEET-PG qualification (or as per NMC admission norms for PG).
4. Participation in counselling / seat-allocation as per state/institute rules, including quota/management/NRI seats (if applicable).
5. Submission of required documents at admission: MBBS mark-sheets, internship certificate, NEET-PG scorecard, identity proof, quota/category certificates (if applicable). (Standard for PG admissions.)
