MD Anesthesiology

Overview

1. The MD Anaesthesiology program at KMCT Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode is a structured three-year postgraduate clinical training program designed to produce competent anaesthesiologists with strong clinical judgment and ethical practice. The department functions within a tertiary care teaching hospital, offering extensive exposure to elective and emergency surgical services across multiple specialties.
2. Residents receive comprehensive hands-on training in general and regional anaesthesia, airway management, peri-operative monitoring, pain management, and critical care medicine, including ICU postings. Academic activities such as seminars, journal clubs, case discussions, and morbidity-mortality meetings form an integral part of the curriculum.
3. The program emphasizes patient safety, evidence-based practice, and interdisciplinary teamwork under the guidance of experienced faculty. Graduates are well prepared for independent anaesthesia practice, critical care roles, pain clinics, or further super-specialty and academic careers.

Eligibility

1. MBBS degree recognized by the National Medical Commission
2. Completion of CRRI on or before the prescribed cut-off date
3. Valid NEET-PG score and rank
4. Registration with NMC or State Medical Council
5. Eligibility under All India Quota / Kerala State Quota / Management Quota as applicable
6. Must satisfy reservation and category criteria as per prevailing government regulations
