KMCT Medical College was established in the year 2008 with an intake of 100 MBBS seats approved by the Medical Council of India. It is managed by Kunhitharuvai Memorial Charitable Trust (KMCT). The College is affiliated with the Kerala University of Health Sciences. The Central Government accorded recognition for the MBBS course in the year 2013. Postgraduate courses were started in the academic year 2015-16. The Medical College is attached to KMCT Medical College Hospital, which is a tertiary-level multispecialty hospital with more than 720 beds. It has also been recognized for DNB courses by the National Board of Examination (NBE), New Delhi.
