Overview
The Master of Global Health at the University of Sydney is an interdisciplinary postgraduate programme designed for individuals who want to make a tangible difference in global health and health equity arenas. The curriculum covers foundational public health domains—such as epidemiology, biostatistics, qualitative research, global health policy and systems—while enabling students to specialise through electives and professional/international placements. The programme emphasises real-world application: students may engage in project work or placements in global health settings, thereby gaining practical experience alongside academic study. The University’s strong reputation in health research and its global linkages support this goal. Upon completion, graduates are well-positioned to contribute to international health organisations, NGOs, policy agencies, governmental health departments, or research institutes focused on global health challenges. The flexible structure allows for diverse backgrounds, and the focus on equity across populations and settings is central to the mission.
