Overview

    1. The Master of Dental Public Health at the University of Sydney is designed for dental professionals and oral-health practitioners who wish to specialise in public health dentistry and influence oral health outcomes at a population level. The curriculum includes core units in oral health services, population oral health, preventive dentistry, and elective/capstone units in research or service delivery.
    2. Students develop advanced competencies in designing, implementing and evaluating oral‐health promotion and disease prevention programmes, conducting oral health surveillance, analysing policy and service systems, and working with vulnerable and marginalised populations.
    3. Upon graduation, students will be well-positioned for roles in government health departments, state and federal oral health services, community and Indigenous oral health, academia, research, and advocacy. The programme aligns with accreditation by the Australian Dental Council (ADC) for recognition of public health dentistry specialist status.

Eligibility

    1. Hold a Bachelor’s or Doctoral degree in Dentistry.
    2. Or hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a Master of Public Health (or equivalent) for non-dentistry applicants.
    3. Meet English language proficiency requirements (for international applicants).
    4. Interview or other selection assessment as required by the Faculty.
