Master of Science (MSc) in Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing

• The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Council registration.
• Minimum education requirements shall be the passing of B.Sc.Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks.

An OB/GYN nurse are trained to offer prenatal, postpartum and reproduction healthcare for female patients. The course offers a thorough understanding of female reproductive health, pregnancies and childbirth. Once you’ve completed the course, you are eligible to apply your skills in almost any medical setting. For instance, you can work alongside a physician, or even be a part of a family planning center or a community clinic.

Some of the prime responsibilities of an OB/GYN nurse include:

• Carrying out routine examinations.
• Educating patients on topics such as birth control and safe practices.
• Informing patients about various fertility treatments options.
• Administer vaccines.
• Council and educate pregnant women on prenatal care.
• Monitor the health of newborns.
• Coordinate with other practicing nurses.
