The MS Nutrition & Metabolism – Dietetic Internship Pathway at UTMB is a combined master’s degree and dietetic internship program structured to prepare students for eligibility to take the national credentialing exam and become Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs). The program integrates rigorous hybrid coursework in nutrition theory, evidence-based practice, quality systems, informatics, and professional development with supervised practice rotations in clinical, community, food service management, and selective specialty settings. Students complete a minimum of 1,280 supervised practice hours across four semesters, engage with a range of preceptor sites, and develop competencies required for dietetic practice.
