The Internal Medicine-Pediatrics (Med-Peds) Residency Program at University of Illinois College of Medicine (UICOM), Chicago is a 4-year ACGME-accredited combined residency program that provides comprehensive training in both adult and pediatric medicine. The program is designed to develop physicians capable of caring for patients across all age groups through alternating rotations in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Residents receive training in inpatient and outpatient care, primary care, subspecialty medicine, critical care, preventive health, and complex disease management. The curriculum follows the requirements of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and American Board of Pediatrics (ABP), with additional opportunities for research, quality improvement, simulation training, and academic development. Graduates are prepared for careers in primary care, hospital medicine, academic medicine, and fellowship training.
