Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Surgeons (IAGES)

The IAGES was founded in 1993 by the leading surgeons during that time in India under the leadership of Professor T E Udwadia who is widely regarded as Father of Laparoscopy in India. It organizes variety of Training Programs in Laparoscopy & Flexible Gastro Intestinal Endoscopy for medical professionals of the field. It also provides the Fellowship of Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (FIAGES), an entry level training program in Laparoscopic Surgery. The IAGES organizes FIAGES programs in various parts of Country, which provides thorough teaching and training of Laparoscopic Surgeries. It also provide Fellowship of Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery (FALS), in various sub specialties such as Hernia, Bariatric surgery, UGI Surgery, Colo- rectal surgery and Oncology. On successful completion of evaluation and examination, candidates are provided with Fellowship Certificate in the Annual Convocation at National Congress of IAGES.
