Overview
The concept of basic diploma programme in General Nursing and Midwifery is geared to the health needs of the individual family community. The basic aim of the diploma course is to prepare nurses with a sound educational programme in nursing enable them to function as efficient members of the health team, beginning with the competencies for first level positions in all kinds of health care settings. To develop an ability to co-operate and co-ordinate with members of the health team in the prevention of disease, promotion of health and rehabilitation of the sick. To help nurses in their personal and professional development so that they can make maximum contribution to the society. To serve as a base for further professional education and specialization in nursing an to keep pace with latest professional and technological developments and use these for providing nursing care service.

Eligibility
- The Candidates should have completed 17 years of age on or before 15t Oct. for that session. The candidates who have not completed 17 years are not eligible to appear in this course. No request for relaxation of the age limit will be entertained. Maximum age limit for female candidates is 34 years and for male 28 years.
- The qualifying for selection is 1ih standard examination under 10+2 system (Any Stream) of Rajasthan Board or an equivalent examination of any recognized Board/University.
- A pass out in 10+2 system, with 40% marks in any stream. All selections in the first instance would be provisional, to be confirmed subsequently. Ever after confirmation a selection cancelled, if provide beyond reasonable doubt that the selection was secured through fraudulent means or the candidate was not eligible.

- They must have obtained the minimum number of marks required in their GNM Entrance Exam Result.
