General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM)

Overview

Established originally in 1975 as a nursing school offering a 3½-year GNM diploma with 66 seats, the College of Nursing, Meerut, serves as a longstanding institution in nursing education. Since its inception, the program has contributed significantly to healthcare delivery by training nurses in clinical and midwifery practices. In 2006–07, the institution was upgraded into a B.Sc. Nursing College; however, GNM has remained an integral course. The college now enjoys advanced facilities—including smart classrooms, multiple specialized labs (skill, simulation, community health, pre-clinical, nutrition, advanced nursing, and foundation labs), a library, computer lab, girls’ hostel, and transport services—enhancing both academic and clinical training for GNM students.

Eligibility

Age limit: 17 to 35 years (as on admission year)

Educational Qualification: 10+2 with PCB & English, minimum 40% aggregate

Gender: Both male and female candidates are eligible
