General Nursing & Midwifery (G.N.M.) Course is to prepare a qualified General Nurse who will function as member of a Health Team beginning with consultancies for first level position in both Hospital and community Health Services especially in Rural areas. The school prepares the students to develop an aptitude for nursing and to provide the required knowledge and skills to give comprehensive nursing care to patients of all types of illness.

Eligibility
- Minimum age for admission will 17 year ( as on 31st December of that year). The upper age limit is 35 yrs.For ANM /for LHV. there is no age bar.
- Minimum education; 10+ 2 class passed or its equivalent preferably with Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) subjects with aggregate of 40% marks.
- Those who have cleared 10 +2 vocational ANM course from the school recognized by Indian Nursing council
- ANM training i.e. 10+ 1 and half years training should also have passed +2 or its equivalent.
- 5% relaxation is permitted to SC/ST students.
- Admission of students shall be once in a year.
- Students shall be medically fit
- In addition to the above , admission procedure can be laid down by concerned state Nursing Council/Nursing Examination Boards (S.I.B.E, M.I.B.E, C.M.A.I).
